You don’t have to live in Warsaw or Kraków to find English-speaking IT jobs in Poland. On 16 October 2026, Poland Dev Jobs listed 202 tech jobs in Katowice, 191 in Wrocław, 78 in Gdańsk, 74 in Poznań and 54 in Łódź, all at companies where English is the working language. Each city has its own mix of employers, and local wages and rents are lower than in Warsaw.

This guide compares the main tech cities outside Warsaw and Kraków: how many jobs each has, which employers hire there, what salaries are posted, and what to weigh up before you move.

How the cities compare

Gdynia 14 3 PLN 8,066.89 (Pomorskie)
Bydgoszcz 12 4 PLN 7,322.89 (Kujawsko-pomorskie)

Job counts are from the city pages on Poland Dev Jobs on 16 October 2026. Wages are average gross monthly pay across all jobs in each region in 2024, from Statistics Poland (GUS). They aren’t tech salaries, but they show how local pay levels, and usually rents, differ.

Two things stand out. First, the number of employers matters as much as the number of jobs: Katowice has more jobs than Wrocław, but at half as many companies. Second, remote work changes the maths. 36% of all jobs on our board were fully remote in October 2026 (report), so you can often work for a Warsaw or foreign employer while living elsewhere. IT jobs in Katowice

Jobs in Katowice: 202 English-speaking tech roles at 16 companies on 16 October 2026.

Katowice’s English-speaking tech market is heavily shaped by consulting and shared service centres. Among the most recent ads, EY was hiring many SAP consultants and managers (CO, FICO, MM, EWM, production planning), alongside roles at Capgemini, Eurofins, Rockwell Automation, Cadence Design Systems and VML. Related searches on the city page include SAP, Azure, AWS, Python, .NET and C#.

Salaries: the median posted salary in Katowice was PLN 168,000 a year in our October 2026 report, from 18 ads with a salary, with a 10th to 90th percentile range of PLN 99,480 to PLN 288,000 (report). That’s lower than Warsaw’s PLN 282,600 median, but the sample is small.

Good fit if: you work with SAP, ERP, cloud infrastructure or enterprise .NET, or you want to be part of a large consulting team. Some ads ask for a second language such as French, German or Swedish.

IT jobs in Gdańsk and the Tricity

Jobs in Gdańsk: 78 English-speaking tech roles at 20 companies on 16 October 2026, plus 14 in Gdynia.

Gdańsk has a strong engineering base. Recent ads included Intel (compiler engineers, AI frameworks, security software), Honeywell, Thomson Reuters, State Street, Capgemini and Airbus, with several internships. Related searches include Python, Azure, AWS, Java, Kubernetes, Terraform and Snowflake.

Salaries: most posted salaries on the Gdańsk page were PLN 125k to 386k a year on 16 October 2026. The October report put the median at PLN 261,590 from 16 ads, and Gdynia’s at PLN 232,300 from 11 ads (report).

English speaking jobs in Gdańsk: every job on the page is at a company where English is the working language; that’s the rule for our whole board. Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia together make up the Tricity, so you can live in one and work in another.

Good fit if: you work in low-level software, compilers, AI tooling, finance technology or QA, or you want to live by the sea.

IT jobs in Poznań

Jobs in Poznań: 74 English-speaking tech roles at 13 companies on 16 October 2026.

Capgemini posted most of the recent Poznań ads (front-end, .NET, DevOps, Python, ServiceNow and business IT consulting, some with German). Smaller tech firms also hire in English: Mirantis (cloud infrastructure and k0s), Netguru and Appunite, plus Roche for an AI product role. Some of these roles are remote within Poland but listed under Poznań. Related searches include AWS, Kubernetes, Python, Azure and Salesforce.

Salaries: too few Poznań ads stated a salary for a reliable median in our October report. Two examples from 16 October 2026: a Product Owner at PLN 16k to 22k a month and a freelance QA automation engineer at up to PLN 155 an hour on B2B.

Good fit if: you’re an IT consultant, DevOps or cloud engineer, especially with German, or you want a mid-sized city with lower average wages and living costs than Warsaw.

IT jobs in Łódź

Jobs in Łódź: 54 English-speaking tech roles at 10 companies on 16 October 2026.

Łódź’s list mixes software and industrial engineering. Recent employers included Bosch (Mac development, mobile GRC, systems engineering, product management), Atos (SAP, Microsoft Exchange, DevOps, enterprise architecture), Emerson, Hitachi, Airbus, ABB and Tietoevry.

Salaries: posted salaries ranged from PLN 92k to 182k a year on the Łódź page on 16 October 2026, from a small number of ads.

Good fit if: you work in enterprise infrastructure, SAP, embedded or product roles in industrial companies.

Szczecin, Bydgoszcz and other cities

Smaller cities have fewer English-speaking employers, so a single company can make up most of the list:

  • Szczecin: 20 jobs at 4 companies, mostly Tietoevry (C and C++ for 5G telecoms, embedded, testing) and Accenture (embedded automotive and functional safety).
  • Bydgoszcz: 12 jobs at 4 companies.
  • Lublin: 11 jobs at 2 companies.

If you’re set on a smaller city, combine local roles with remote jobs to widen your options.

Is the market in balance?

Official forecasts are cautious. The national Barometr zawodów 2026 forecast rates programmers as an occupation in balance for 2026, not a shortage occupation, and expects a surplus of IT technicians in 64 districts, partly because of AI (Barometr zawodów 2026). Poland had 778,800 ICT specialists in 2025, 4.5% of all employment (Eurostat).

In smaller cities that means fewer openings at any one time. Set up job alerts and check the city pages regularly rather than waiting for a perfect match.

How to choose a city

  1. Count employers, not just jobs. If one company posts most of a city’s ads, think about what you’d do if you left it.
  2. Check your stack. Use the related searches on each city page, for example Python jobs in Warsaw versus the Python filter on smaller cities.
  3. Compare total cost. Lower average wages usually come with lower rents. Our Wrocław cost of living guide shows how to build a budget.
  4. Check the commute. Look at the office address before choosing a flat, and ask how many office days the role expects.
  5. Consider remote first. A remote role lets you pick the city on lifestyle alone.
