The most in-demand tech stack in Poland’s English-speaking job market is Python, followed by cloud skills (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes) and then SQL, Linux and Java. In our October 2026 report, Python appears in 36% of the 3,152 live ads on Poland Dev Jobs, AWS in 26% and Java in 14% (Poland Dev Jobs report, October 2026).

This guide shows which languages and tools employers ask for, how much they post for each, which cities hire, and what that means if you’re choosing what to learn or where to apply.

What these numbers measure. They count the ads on our board, which lists only companies where English is the working language. They’re not the whole Polish job market. Ads that need business-level Polish are left out, so local software houses that work in Polish are under-represented.

Which tech stacks are most in demand in Poland?

Here are the top stacks named in job ads in our October 2026 report. An ad can name several, so the shares add up to more than 100%.

Three patterns stand out:

  1. Cloud and infrastructure skills are everywhere. AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Google Cloud, Linux, Docker and Terraform each appear in 10% or more of ads. DevOps and SRE is also the largest named role group, with 327 jobs (10%).
  2. Python leads by a wide margin, partly because it spans backend, data engineering, data science, machine learning and automation.
  3. AI work is now a large share. Machine learning and AI roles account for 277 jobs (9%), and 447 ads (14%) mention large language models.

Among programming languages alone, the order on our board in October 2026 is Python (1,136 jobs), Java (456), Go (363), TypeScript (304) and C++ (269). On live pages on 16 October 2026 we also counted 250 JavaScript jobs, 250 React jobs, 171 C# jobs, 110 Kotlin jobs, 100 Rust jobs and 47 PHP jobs.

That’s not the same as the languages developers use most. Worldwide, the 2025 Stack Overflow Developer Survey found JavaScript (66%), HTML/CSS (61.9%), SQL (58.6%) and Python (57.9%) were the most used languages among all respondents (Stack Overflow, 2025 survey). JavaScript is everywhere, but employers often name the framework (React, TypeScript) in the ad, which is why it ranks lower in our counts.

Python jobs in Poland

On 16 October 2026, Python jobs listed 1,134 English-speaking roles at 238 companies. Most posted salaries were PLN 158k to 507k a year.

Python shows up across very different jobs:

  • backend engineering (Django, FastAPI, Flask);
  • data engineering (Airflow, Spark, dbt) and analytics;
  • machine learning and LLM applications;
  • DevOps, test automation and infrastructure tooling.

If you’re a Python developer, say which of these you do in your CV headline. A recruiter screening for a data platform role isn’t looking for the same profile as one hiring a Django backend engineer. Browse by role too: machine learning and AI, data engineering, data science and backend.

Java jobs in Poland

On 16 October 2026, Java jobs listed 456 English-speaking roles at 124 companies, with most posted salaries at PLN 132k to 575k a year. Java is strong in banking, insurance, telecoms and large IT services firms, many of which run delivery centres in Kraków, Warsaw, Wrocław and Katowice.

Java ads often ask for Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka and a cloud platform. Kotlin is a smaller but well-paid neighbour: Kotlin jobs listed 110 roles, with most posted salaries at PLN 248k to 485k a year.

Is there demand for junior Java developers?

Not much in English-speaking ads. Across all stacks, our October 2026 report counted 81 junior ads (3%) and 49 internships (2%), against 1,042 senior ads (33%). The rest were mid-level, staff, lead or unspecified. If you’re starting out, look at internships and graduate programmes at large employers, and consider learning Polish, which opens the much larger local market.

Go, TypeScript and the rest

  • Go: 360 Go jobs at 105 companies, most posted salaries PLN 211k to 507k a year. Go is common in infrastructure, fintech and cloud-native companies.
  • TypeScript and React: 304 TypeScript jobs and 250 React jobs. Frontend and full-stack roles often ask for both.
  • C#/.NET: 171 C# jobs, mostly in enterprise and finance.
  • Rust: 100 Rust jobs at 35 companies, with the highest posted range of the languages we checked: PLN 286k to 530k a year.
  • PHP: 47 PHP jobs. Many PHP roles in Poland are at local companies that work in Polish, so they don’t reach our board.

All figures are from the live pages on Poland Dev Jobs on 16 October 2026. The salary ranges cover only ads that state a salary, about 15% of all ads in the October report, so treat them as a guide, not a market survey.

Which IT skills are in demand in Poland, according to official data?

Official sources don’t rank programming languages, but they do show the size and direction of the market.

  • Size. Eurostat counted 778,800 ICT specialists employed in Poland in 2025, which is 4.5% of total employment, against an EU average of 5.0% (Eurostat, isoc_sks_itspt). Eurostat’s explainer covers how ICT specialists are defined (Eurostat).
  • Balance, not shortage. The national Barometr zawodów 2026 forecast, run for the Polish labour ministry, rates programmers (programiści) and computer analysts and testers as occupations in balance for 2026, not as shortage occupations. It forecasts a surplus of IT technicians (technicy informatycy) in 64 districts and says AI will reduce demand for some IT workers (Barometr zawodów 2026, national report).

In plain terms: Poland has a large tech workforce and plenty of open roles, but entry-level jobs are competitive. Experienced engineers with cloud, data or AI skills are in the strongest position.

Where are the jobs?

Most English-speaking tech jobs are in Warsaw. From our October 2026 report:

City Jobs Share
Warsaw 1,069 34%
Kraków 488 15%
Katowice 194 6%
Wrocław 191 6%
Gdańsk 75 2%
Poznań 74 2%
Łódź 53 2%

Remote work changes the picture: 36% of ads (1,150) were fully remote. On 16 October 2026, remote jobs listed 1,147 roles. Our guide to tech jobs beyond Warsaw and Kraków covers the smaller hubs.

Which tech jobs pay most in Poland?

Here are the medians of posted yearly salaries by role, in PLN, from 354 ads with a salary in the October 2026 report. Monthly salaries are counted 12 times.

Role Median per year Salaries (n)

DevOps & SRE PLN 302,375 33
Data engineering PLN 241,440 18
QA & testing PLN 228,750 21
Data science PLN 195,474 22

Samples are small, so a few ads can move a median. For official pay data and the B2B vs employment difference, read our software developer salary guide, and use the salary after tax calculator to see what an offer means in take-home pay.

How to use this if you’re job hunting

  1. Lead with your strongest stack in your CV headline and LinkedIn title, using the exact words employers use (for example “Python, AWS, Terraform”).
  2. Add one cloud platform. Cloud skills appear in a quarter of all ads. Certification is optional; showing real deployments matters more.
  3. Show depth, not lists. Senior ads dominate, so describe systems you built and what changed because of them.
  4. Set up alerts for your stack and city so you see new roles the day they’re posted.
