How much does a software developer earn in Poland? It depends on the city, your seniority and, especially, the type of contract. This guide brings together official statistics, public job-board reports and the salaries employers post on our own board.
Every number below says what it measures: gross or net, monthly or yearly, average or median, employment contract or B2B. Don’t compare numbers that measure different things.
How salaries are posted in Poland
Three things surprise people coming from elsewhere:
- Salaries are monthly. Ads and statistics usually show a monthly amount, not an annual one.
- They’re in local currency. Poland uses the złoty (PLN). Our board shows the currency the employer posted.
- The contract type changes the number. Many ads show two ranges:
- UoP (umowa o pracę, employment contract): a gross monthly salary, before your income tax and social and health contributions.
- B2B (business-to-business): a net amount on the invoice, excluding VAT. You invoice as a sole trader and pay your own tax, social security and health contributions from it. A B2B agreement is not an employment contract, so paid days off depend on what the agreement says.
Just Join IT’s salary report states this convention directly: employment contract rates are gross, and B2B rates are net on the invoice, excluding VAT (Just Join IT). Because of this, a B2B rate is not “more money” by the same amount. Read our tax basics guide before comparing.
Since 24 December 2025, Polish employers must tell candidates for an employment contract the starting pay or pay range. Ideally that’s in the job ad, and at the latest before the contract is signed (National Labour Inspectorate).
Salaries on our board
This table is built from the salaries employers post on jobs on this board. It only includes groups with enough posted salaries to be meaningful. It updates on every deploy.
Live data from the jobs and companies on this board, as of 27 September 2026.
Yearly salaries stated in active job ads on this board. The median uses the middle of each ad's range. Groups with fewer than 5 salaries are not shown.

Official statistics
Statistics Poland (GUS) publishes a survey of wages by occupation. The latest edition covers October 2024, for employers with 10 or more staff. All figures are gross monthly pay (GUS, wages by occupation, October 2024):
| Group (October 2024) | Average, gross/month | Median, gross/month |
|---|---|---|
| Software and applications developers and analysts | PLN 15,629.51 | PLN 13,900.00 |
| Database and network professionals | PLN 13,934.67 | — |
| ICT service managers | — | PLN 19,714.50 |
| All occupations | PLN 8,944.79 | PLN 7,404.69 |
For context, the average wage across the whole economy was PLN 8,903.56 gross a month in 2025 (GUS).
Wages also differ by region. In 2024, the average gross monthly wage was PLN 9,488.94 in Mazowieckie (Warsaw’s region), PLN 8,359.59 in Dolnośląskie (Wrocław) and PLN 8,249.31 in Małopolskie (Kraków) (GUS, regional wages 2024). These cover all jobs, not only tech.
GUS data is solid but slow. It includes the public sector and smaller firms, and it doesn’t show B2B contractors. The job-board reports below are more current, but they measure advertised pay, not what people actually earn.

No Fluff Jobs: offers by city, 2026
A No Fluff Jobs analysis of job ads, published on 22 September 2026, looks at the median of the upper end of posted salary ranges (No Fluff Jobs). Because it uses the top of each range, these numbers are higher than a typical offer.
- Kraków: PLN 22,300 gross a month on an employment contract, PLN 30,450 net (+ VAT) on B2B.
- Wrocław: PLN 20,000 gross on an employment contract, PLN 24,360 net (+ VAT) on B2B.
- Warsaw: the highest employment-contract figures for seniors (PLN 25,300 gross) and juniors (PLN 14,400 gross) among the nine cities analysed.
Bulldogjob: what IT workers say they earn
Bulldogjob’s 2025 survey asked IT workers what they earn (Bulldogjob). Unlike the reports above, its employment-contract figures are take-home pay after tax and contributions, not gross. B2B figures are net on the invoice.
- Median, all respondents: PLN 9,200 take-home on an employment contract, PLN 20,800 on B2B.
- Median take-home pay on an employment contract, full-time employees: Kraków PLN 10,250, Warsaw PLN 9,600, Wrocław PLN 9,500.
Does an offer meet the EU Blue Card threshold?
If you need a work permit, your salary may decide which one you can get. For Blue Card applications filed in 2026, you need at least PLN 13,355.34 gross a month. That’s 150% of the 2025 average wage of PLN 8,903.56 (GUS).
Our work visa guide explains all the conditions. You can also filter for visa sponsorship jobs.
How to compare two offers
- Put both on the same basis. Convert to monthly or annual, and to the same currency, using the rate on the day.
- Compare net, not headline. For a UoP offer, estimate take-home pay after tax and contributions. For B2B, subtract your tax, social security (ZUS), health contribution and accounting costs. Then allow for unpaid holiday and sick days.
- Check what’s included. Private medical care, a sports card, a bonus, equity, paid holiday on B2B, and an equipment budget all have value.
- Look at the cost of living. Warsaw costs more than smaller cities. See our cost of living guide.
Frequently asked questions
How much do developers earn in Warsaw, Kraków and Wrocław?
It depends on the source. No Fluff Jobs’ 2026 analysis of the top of posted ranges shows PLN 22,300 gross a month in Kraków and PLN 20,000 in Wrocław on employment contracts, and PLN 25,300 for seniors in Warsaw. Bulldogjob’s 2025 survey puts median take-home pay for full-time employees at PLN 10,250 in Kraków and PLN 9,600 in Warsaw.
Is B2B better paid than an employment contract (UoP) in Poland?
B2B rates look higher, but they aren’t directly comparable. UoP salaries are gross, before tax and contributions, while B2B rates are net on the invoice, excluding VAT, and you pay your own tax, ZUS, health contribution and accountant. Paid days off depend on the agreement. Compare take-home pay on the same basis.
Are salaries in Poland quoted monthly or yearly?
Usually monthly. Polish job ads and statistics normally show a monthly amount in złoty (PLN), not an annual one. Many ads show two ranges: a gross monthly salary for an employment contract and a net monthly invoice amount for B2B. Convert both offers to the same period and currency before you compare them.
Do Polish employers have to disclose the salary?
Yes, for employment contracts. Since 24 December 2025, employers must tell candidates the starting pay or pay range, ideally in the job ad and at the latest before the contract is signed. They also may not ask about your previous salary. If an ad shows no range, ask the recruiter for it early.
Does a typical developer offer meet the Blue Card threshold in Poland?
Many mid-level and senior offers do, but junior offers usually don’t. For 2026 applications, the Blue Card needs at least PLN 13,355.34 gross a month. Just Join IT’s 2025 offer figures are PLN 15,000 gross for mid-level and PLN 21,573 for senior developers, but PLN 8,000 for juniors. Check your own offer against the threshold.
