How big is the Poland IT job market in 2026, and where are the jobs? Poland had 778,800 ICT specialists in 2025, 4.5% of everyone in work, up from 625,500 (3.7%) in 2021 (Eurostat). The EU average was 5.0%, so Poland is still catching up.

For English speakers, the market is concentrated and senior. In our October 2026 report, Poland Dev Jobs had 3,152 live tech jobs at 360 companies. A third were in Warsaw, 36% were fully remote, a third were explicitly senior, and only 1% mentioned visa sponsorship. The median advertised salary was PLN 282,600 a year.

This guide puts those numbers together: the size of the market, the cities, roles and stacks in demand, salaries, junior prospects and what it means if you need a visa. Our figures cover the jobs on our board, not every job in Poland.

The size of the market: official statistics

Eurostat counts ICT specialists: people whose job is mainly developing, operating or maintaining IT systems, across all industries (Eurostat).

Year ICT specialists in Poland Share of employment, Poland Share of employment, EU
2021 625,500 3.7% 4.5%
2022 644,600 3.7% 4.6%
2023 744,100 4.3% 4.8%
2024 770,600 4.5% 4.9%
2025 778,800 4.5% 5.0%

So the number of IT specialists grew by about 153,000 in four years, but growth slowed in 2024 and 2025. The gap to the EU average suggests there’s still room to grow.

These are advertised salaries from the minority of ads that state one, so treat them as a guide. For comparison, the average gross wage across the whole Polish economy was PLN 8,903.56 a month in 2025 (GUS). Tech pay sits well above it.

Many offers are B2B contracts rather than employment. Our guides to software developer salaries in Poland and B2B vs UoP explain the difference, and the salary after tax calculator turns any offer into take-home pay.

Junior software developer jobs in Poland

The market for English-speaking juniors is thin. Of the 3,152 jobs in our October report, 81 (3%) were junior roles and 49 (2%) internships, against 1,042 (33%) senior roles. 44% didn’t state a level.

If you’re starting out:

  • Look at internships and graduate programmes at large employers, which appear on our company pages.
  • Apply to “not specified” ads that match your skills; many don’t name a level.
  • Consider QA, data or support engineering roles as a way in.
  • If you’re a student in Poland, check what your residence permit allows before you take paid work.

IT jobs in Poland with visa sponsorship

If you need a work permit, the numbers are sobering: 24 of 3,152 jobs (1%) mentioned visa sponsorship and 299 (9%) accepted applicants from abroad in October 2026. If you already have the right to work in Poland, the rest of the market opens up.

Ways to improve your odds:

What’s changing in 2026

  • B2B scrutiny. Since 8 July 2026, labour inspectors can rule that a B2B or other civil-law contract is really employment (Dz.U. 2026 poz. 473). See PIP and B2B reclassification.
  • Remote work stays common. More than a third of the jobs on our board are fully remote.
  • AI skills spread. LLMs appear in 14% of ads, and machine learning and AI is one of the three largest role groups.
