We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Lead Software Engineer to drive the design, development and modernization of enterprise-scale applications. The role requires strong expertise in Angular and Java/Spring Boot, combined with the ability to provide technical leadership, guide engineering teams and deliver high-quality software solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering management, architects and other technical leads to develop scalable, maintainable applications, support external engineering resources and contribute to AI-enabled capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and development of enterprise applications using Angular, Java and Spring Boot.
- Remain hands-on in coding, particularly for complex features, foundational components and critical integrations.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance to engineers and contractors, including code reviews, troubleshooting and implementation support.
- Design and develop scalable REST APIs, microservices and seamless frontend-backend integrations.
- Establish engineering standards for frontend architecture, reusable components, application performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with data and platform engineers to integrate data services, asynchronous processing and event-driven capabilities.
- Contribute to AI-enabled application features, intelligent workflow automation and integration with LLM-based services.
- Translate business and technical requirements into practical designs, development tasks and deliverable solutions.
- Champion automated testing, CI/CD, code quality, secure development and operational reliability.
- Identify technical risks, resolve engineering challenges and support delivery commitments.
- Mentor engineers, promote knowledge sharing and ensure sustainable internal ownership of developed solutions.
Recommended Qualifications:
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in software engineering, preferably within financial services or a large, complex enterprise environment.
- Strong experience in software development using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, or similar modern technologies.
- Good understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, system integration and database technologies.
- Experience with modern software engineering practices, including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and secure coding standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Experience delivering software solutions across the development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design through implementation and production support.
- Ability to assess technical solutions, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of assigned deliverables.
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating effectively with geographically distributed teams.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements, meet deadlines and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
